Timothy John Tasabia, age 61, of Riverside, California passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. On this day the Lord called home one of his most giving servants. Tim was born April 20th, 1962 in Muleshoe, Texas, to Pastors David and Dolores Tasabia.
Tim was an outstanding athlete who excelled in many sports throughout middle school and high school. He lettered in several sports but was most passionate about wrestling. He was a corporal in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country for eight years before his honorable discharge in 1992.
Tim wed his first wife, Jeneva Mazuka, on October 15, 1988. They grew into a loving family with five children prior to Jeneva’s passing 11 years later. Tim married Felicia Felix on September 20, 2000. For 23 years, they loved and nurtured a newly combined family of seven children (a.k.a. The Magnificent Seven).
He is survived by his wife, Felicia, and mother, Dolores. He was a proud father to seven children and a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren. One of Tim’s favorite activities was spoiling his grandchildren with sweet treats and memorable gifts.
His children and grandchildren include J.D., wife Elida, and their children Demetrius and Savannah. Darrel and wife Melissa with children Nathan, Camila, and David. Sons Timmy, Jonas, and Elias. Also, daughter Shayna, husband Neil and children Liv, Finn, and Oliver, and his youngest daughter Glorie and her husband Dawson. Glorie is recently wed, giving Tim the opportunity to walk both his daughters down the aisle.
Tim was defined by his love for the Lord, his wife, children and grandchildren, his service to the community, and his inspiring, unrelenting work ethic. He was also known for his sense of humor, clapping hands, trademark all-black shades, camo pants, and patriotic shirts.
While his boys were young, he was a commander for the Royal Rangers at New Beginnings Community Church, Norco, where he helped to evangelize, equip and empower the next generation of Christlike men.
Tim was a prime example of a servant leader in action. You could often find him volunteering at church or giving back to young people through his time coaching his kids’ soccer and wrestling teams. He was also very talented in many trades and often lent his time and energy to building projects for the church, his friends and his family. His latest project was a backyard treehouse for his rapidly expanding group of grandchildren.
Tim and his sons, JD and Darrel, own and operate a successful solar business. He swelled with pride at being able to work with all of his sons in the company. His commitment to quality service and dedication to teaching young solar professionals was unmatched.
Tim lived by his favorite scripture, 1 Peter 5:7, “cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you”.
The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as friends, family, and his hat collection will attest. Tim was a visionary. His excitement at sharing his dreams left an imprint on his children as well as those who knew him best, inspiring all to dream big.
