Three years ago today this amazing, wonderful man left us and that is three years to long of living without him . I wish that everyone reading this remembers this amazing man for the rest of your life time and the acts of love and compassion he made .  :)

It was 2 years today this man passed . 2 years is to long for any of us , as he once saidWE ARE A HEARD AND WE STICK TOGETHER

Tim Gulla worked at Los Angeles Fire Dept. Supply and Maintenance when I was hired as a helper in 1994. He took me under his wing and was very helpful teaching me diesel mechanics and repairing fire engines. He was a great guy and very easy to get along with and his knowledge/training helped me advance years later. He promoted to Airports but we lost contact.  He would always make jokes and get a kick out of making me laugh. My heart goes out to his family. Rest in peace Tim


I remember him very well, he though  me about life and the world that we live in, he thought me about cars and how they work. I remember when he sneezed really loud and it scared everybody in the house. Once he told me a little Secret and this is what he said “‏ At my funeral tell them all my jokes and what a great man I was”.

Timothy was always kind to me , would always make me laugh . We met at the Ontario airport Timothy will be missed and never forgotten .

Tim, my love of my life.  I sit here over a month that you are gone and I still do not believe it.  I met you when I was 16 1/2.  I knew right away you were the one.  We spent 45 years together, having 2 beautiful girls and 3 beautiful grandchildren together.  I thought we had so much time together.  I am not sure how I will go on without you.  You made me laugh and cry but the laughing was the best.  I will love you and miss you for the rest of my life,  I couldn’t ask for a better husband, father and grandfather.  I know you are watching us but I want you back here,

I have known Tim for over 30 years.  He was devoted to his family, quick to help friends and neighbors, fair minded, always prepared to tell a bad joke, and one of those people true to his word and who could always be counted on. My heart is heavy with his passing, but I know his values, kindness  (and bad jokes) live on through his children and grandchildren. The love he and Ilene share is uncommon and an inspiration. I am proud to call Tim a friend, and send my deepest love to Ilene, Sheryl, Lindsay, Tyler and Macie. 

I feel so lucky to have known Uncle Tim.  Whenever I saw him, he had a smile. He was never laughing at someone, but always inviting you to join in on the joke. It was always so obvious the deep love he had for his family. I am going to miss him so much. Keeping him and his amazing family in my thoughts and prayers.  

Tim came into my life when he became important to Ilene. Ilene’s mom Florence and mine (Bernice) were best friends from the beginning of time, on Long Island, Orange County and Rancho Cucamonga. This kept Ilene, Tim, Sheryl and Lindsay in our lives as well. 
We all go way way back. Tim was a rare breed, solid, full of love, integrity, and generosity. I will miss him with all my heart. 

When I was a baby, the sight of Uncle Tim's empty shoes brought me to tears. Those tears had nothing to do with the presence of the man who wore them, and everything to do with the fact that they were simply the biggest shoes I had ever seen. 

Since that time, Uncle Tim has been one of the most important people in my life. Through his humor, kindness, honesty, and wisdom, he has served as a steadfast source of strength for me, as he has for all his family and friends. 

When I think of his empty shoes today, I am moved to tears once again. These tears are for the loss of Uncle Tim, a man of decency and character who I love so much. 

Rest in peace, Uncle Tim. We will remember you always. 

I had the opportunity to work with Tim at Ontario Airport. He had such a calming demeanor and an amazing sense of humor. He was a pleasure to work with.

It's been many years, but we still remember Tim when he worked for the Kitchen Store in Astoria Queens with Steve. He was a caring and hard working employee. Always giving 100% and more. Fond memories of growing up with you Ilene, your Mom, Dad and brother.  We are so sorry for your loss and hope that your memories are a comfort to you.  Love  Amy

The Dieterich's on Long Island just heard about this through the internet, by accident! What happened? No one on Long Island has heard anything, or knows anything. Someone please give us a call. All my love to the family. 

My favorite memory of Tim: Somehow he and I were talking about cashiers either not knowing how to give you the right change if you throw in a penny into the mix. I told Tim how a cashier had given me $5.00 to much. How I brought it to her attention  and returned it. Tim said that had happen to him too. Then he added "being the Christian man that I am...I kept it!"  I laughed so hard, to this day, I share that story with friends. 

We met Ilene, Tim and their family while camping at Mt. Lakes. Met them through Peg and Mary.  We instantly knew we'd be friends for life.  Being a bit silly myself,  I just loved Tim's sense of humor! Seeing the family always warmed our hearts. We will miss you deeply...we can't fathom the fact, you are gone from our lives! 

I've had the opportunity to know Tim and Ilene during the past three years through dogsitting and babysitting for the family.  I've learned that animals and children can tell you a lot about a person.   Tim has been described as being quiet and reserved, however when it came to his grandkids, I found he had a lot to say.  While preparing to babysit for Tyler and Macie, Ilene gave me the rundown on food, naps and a few rules for the kids;  I would be with them for several days while the grandparents were gone on vacation.  On my way to the car, Tim walked me out and gave me his instructions "When you walk Tyler to school, you need to leave at 7:10am; it's important that you wait with him on the playground until the kids are dismissed to class; and as the students pass by , you need to give them a HIGH FIVE and tell them to HAVE A GOOD DAY.  It's very important."  I smiled and said, "I'll do my best".   Several days later, I'm off with Tyler and Macie at 7:10am headed for school.  "Lift me up high to hit that tree limb!" begs Macie, "That's what grandpa does!"  I try, and manage the lowest limb telling her "This will have to do Mace, I'm not as tall as your grandpa."  She nods and accepts this with a pout.  Arriving at the school, it is obvious Tyler knows where to go and what to do,  No Problem.   We are early, and Tyler is the first in line....a very coveted position.  As the first graders begin to line up, I overhear a worried mother ask, "Where is Tyler's grandpa?"  to which I respond assuringly, "Grandpa's on vacation, and I'm filling in for him today."  As the teacher appears, and the line of children begin to move, Macey and I prepare to give "High Fives".   To my surprise, Tyler steps aside and begins the morning ritual of giving the "HIGH FIVES" and "Have a good days".   The other mothers smile, as one says, "Look, Tyler's stepping in for his grandpa, because he can't be here today."   I smile too, thinking "Yea Tyler, you got this".   

I don't have one specific memory that sticks out in my mind, but I always knew that if I was going to Lauren's for some type of meal; Tim would be there.  He was quiet and reserved for the most part, but when he spoke you knew it was going to be funny or meaningful.  I feel like he and I were very similar in that way.  20 years of jokes will never be enough, but I'm thankful to have had them at all.  Rest in peace Tim, you are missed.

Tim, you were most importantly a wonderful husband to my sister, a great dad to my nieces, and a loving grandfather to Tyler and Macie. For all others, including our group - you honored all of us by letting us become acquainted with you.  Perhaps you may have even approved me as a RECURRING acquaintance, for which I would be most proud. Thanks, Tim.
Whenever there was a mechanical crisis,  we never needed AAA® or Angie’s List®. We  built our current house in 1998, which sets the scene for one of my favorite Tim stories. As a fellow teacher, Ann already knew the woman directly across the street, who fortunately served as the unofficial neighborhood watch. One Saturday, after framing the house was well underway, our neighbor came over to tell us about this strange guy who showed up daily to inspect the work being done, who also regularly directed the builder and construction crew. She was suspicious, but didn’t call the authorities, and wanted to check with us first, because she was able to see that whoever this guy was, he wore a blue shirt that said “SUPERVISOR.” 
We could always count on Tim for help and advice, even well after the house was finished, Tim was always there, toolbox and flashlight (always with boxes of extra batteries) in hand. The flashlight would quickly illuminate the problem and Tim would fix it, also advising me that “the guy who installed this thing didn’t know what the hell he was doing.” And if that wasn’t enough, on the way back to his car, I’d hear: “Hey - tell your gardener that he’s not edging your lawn properly.” Whenever Tim was around, everything was done properly.   Thanks, Tim.
Tim, you were a special, unique and irreplaceable person who we will all miss tremendously.  Now, who will make sure that all of the Trivial Pursuit pies are put into the round containers in board-placement order? And, when we play other games, who will now sort the M&M’s by color-and also alphabetically from brown to yellow? Things will never be the same.

     It has been my observation in life that some people are givers, and some people are takers. Most people are in the middle and are roughly an equal mixture of giver and taker. Tim Gulla was most definitely a giver. He gave of himself to his immediate family, his extended family, his friends and “acquaintances,” and importantly, two little people who called him “Grandpa.” He was also a helper. In one episode of the original Star Trek, Captain Kirk observed that in the 23rd century the three words “I love you” were replaced by “Let me help.” Helping was one way Tim showed his love to those around him. Tim was strong, smart, capable, orderly, industrious, and skilled in many crafts. He also had a dry sense of humor which I enjoyed. My grandson, Noah, when sadly learning of the terrible news, said “He was a great man.”
	I miss him and will continue to do so. I have known of him since Ilene first told us about him on her visit to San Diego back in 1974 when Henry was in law school. Shortly thereafter, I met him for the first time. He and I had a unique camaraderie, because we were the other half of the siblings Ilene and Henry.  We were quieter than they were in a large social setting. One Christmas at a gathering with our friends, the Olsens, we found ourselves sitting on the corner kitchen bench seats. I am not sure which one of us arrived there first, but I think we both had about the same idea — to step back, take a breath, and observe for a moment. We did not need to say much.  Rest in peace, Tim. I will miss you.

Tim was a good person and I was fortunate to know and work with at Ontario and LAX. I will always remember him as being a calm and happy supervisor who contributed greatly to the success of his crews.

It was truly a pleasure to know Tim. His sense of humor will never be forgotten. He most definitely helped make our work environment enjoyable.

I had the pleasure of working with Tim at LAX and he always had a smile and something funny to say.  I was tickled by that New York accent when he said my name.

I had the pleasure of working with Tim at LAX for several years. I truly enjoyed working with Tim, hearing his stories and I enjoyed his sense of humor.  He was very kind to me, which I’ll always remember.  His passing was way too soon. He will be missed by his family and friends. 

Tim was one of those guys that supported his wife on all her best planned ideas! Tim was a funny jokester kind of guy so you had to laugh pretty much about everything he said! He and Ilene were the best kind of life partners and I was very impressed with their relationship! What a family man! Tim you where so much there for your girls and and your grandchildren too! You are and will be sorely missed! Rest In Peace dear man!

We didn't know Tim very long but in the short time that we did we  just loved his vibrant and cheerful personality.  He loved being around people and helping out where ever he could. He never once complained about anything.  He was always a pleasure to be around.  He will truly be very missed.  Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you all.  God Bless.  Vicki and Larry

To Tim's loving family--although his leaving so suddenly is most difficult, concentrate on the wonderful memories you will have forever of his warmth, caring and fun loving nature.  I remember how he was always right with every activity--even after you took to traveling--and he helped with anything without being asked.   During the quiet hours to come, you will look back at all the memories and rejoice in the knowledge that he is still with you every day in spirit.

We met Tim through Volunteer work as Camphost in the Riverside County Park system. Our Ranger informed us that he had hired he and Ilene and he felt we would become great friends and he was right. His sense of humor  even when joining us for our first dinner together and sitting in one of our chairs and it breaking under him  he responded with I guess I better go on a diet ...We saw how devoted he was to Ilene and he was a great cook.  We are sadden with the loss of a great friend but know he is surrounded by those who have already passed.  We send hugs, comfort and prayers to Ilene , Sheryl and Lindsay,kids...

Had the pleasure of meeting Tim on the china 2016 trip. His laughter and positive attitude was amazing on the trip. He made the trip fun and exciting. Tim you will be missed. Thanks for leaving a good impression on my life.

Tim was an amazingly kind, sincere soul!!! He always had an infectious smile to brighten everyone!!!!!
My fondest memory of Tim was the day of my Dad’s home going celebration, all of you were consoling me with hugs and kind words and Tim steps in with his huge smile and says “I need a hug too”. That’s the kind loving Tim I’ll always remember.

I will always remember the great times we had working together and after we retired, all the fun times we spent traveling and RVing with our families together. It's so hard to write a memory when I can't grasp that I won't be seeing you again.  We had some fun times, lots of laughs, good memories.   My dear acquaintance, you will be missed!  My prayers are plenty, your loved ones need them.  I pray for you to rest in peace, your family to find the strength needed to get through this most painful time, and peace … in time.  
Ilene, Cheryl, Lindsay, Tyler and Macie, I know you don't feel it now, but there will come a time when the pain will ease and you will be able to recall all the wonderful memories of happy times spent together … and smile! Met u many years ago, I know Ileane made a great choice. You living in California and I in Florida, our meetings unfortunately were few. I know the Klein family since I was a little girl of 12, so sorry I never had the chance to spend more time with u. From what I heard you will definitely be missed. A great loss.

Uncle Tim.  Where do I start.  The impact you had on me as well as everyone who met you, you just can't even express in words.   You were such a wonderful man.  Our worlds are shattered without you in them.  Life isn't fair.  You were taken way to soon.  I love you so much and am devastated losing you.  I could always count on you to make me laugh.  My favorite memory of you was when you were going out and came out of your bedroom to put on your shoes.  I exclaimed, "Uncle Tim!  Where are your pants!?" You started, "Oh...I knew I forgot something!" You walked back to your bedroom and put your pants on.  You always treated me like I was your daughter and I will never forget that and think about you every single day.  I love you with my whole heart, my whole soul, my whole being, forever and ever and ever.

My dearest daddy... i miss you with my everything!  I wish i could say more than that but my heart is broken.
