Our beloved mother Soledad, also known as Chole or Sally Lopez, sadly passed away on February 7, 2024 surrounded by her loving family by her side. Chole was born on April 11, 1937 in Riverside. On August 11, 1957, she married the love of her life Jesse Lopez and were married for 62 years until his passing in 2019. After marrying, Chole became a stay-at-home mom to her three daughters before volunteering at West Riverside’s preschool where her youngest daughter attended. She eventually became employed as a yard supervisor and worked there until her retirement. She genuinely loved her job and the students she interacted with. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending monthly senior center potlucks, shopping, and doing crafts or anything else that sounded fun. Chole was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Lopez and son-in-law Thomas Blackwell. She is survived by her daughters Sally Blackwell, Martha Voeltz and son-in-law Eric Voeltz, Veronica Lopez, and granddaughter Jessica Voeltz. She is also survived by her sisters Rosie Zamora, brother-in-law Rosendo Zamora, Jennie Peguero , Vera Alcaraz and brother Henry Peguero and sister-in-law Sally Peguero as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer, 7944 Magnolia Ave., Riverside. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 29, 2024 at 12:00 pm at St Anthony’s Church at 3074 Madison St., Riverside. Burial will follow at Olivewood Cemetery.
