Raymond Charles Harris Jr., age 92, of Riverside, California suffered a heart attack and passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Even though a failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for his family, friends, and students.
Raymond was born and raised in AZ. He relocated to CA after meeting his wife of 70 years, while setting tables at church camp.
Ray is survived by his lovely wife, Marilyn. He was a proud father to his children: Kathy Jordan, Chuck Harris, and twins Carolyn Snyder and Chrissy Low. His legacy lives on through his ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was a talented athlete who loved playing baseball in his youth and in the military. As he got older, tennis became his game of choice. His other passions included dogs, kitties, big band music and VWs.
His humor and bright smile will be missed at Riverside Poly High School where he worked in the counseling department until his retirement.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate his life at the Riverside National Cemetery.
