He graduated from Leo High School in 1966 and served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1967-1971. He was dedicated to his career at the Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad where he worked for 37 years. Recently he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with the love of his life Jenny Croy.
He will be remembered as a man of great humor, sarcasm, and wit. He loved being the center of attention and could find comedy in any situation! He spent his time with his family, traveling with his beloved wife, collecting Lionel Trains, watching sporting events, and the occasional trip to the casinos.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Jenny Croy, his children; Michelle Shields, Jeannette Root, Denise Reynolds, Michael Tomilowitz-Croy, and daughter Kathryn Jones who preceded him in death, grandchildren; Leanne, Drake, and Reese Arthur, Nathan, Connor and Kaitlyn Root, Dylan Keiningham, Emily Rodriguez, Ezri, Teagan, and Ada Tomilowitz-Croy, Elli and Scarlett Jones, Son-in-laws; Randy Reynolds, Brian Jones, Greg Cloutier, Todd Shields, Daughter-in-law; Heather Tomilowitz-Croy and his sisters; Nancy Croy and Mary Ellen Lees.
He is also survived by extended family and countless lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and loving daughter Kathryn Jones.
