Heaven gained two angels Marcelino Macias passing on November 26 and Mary Macias following 3 days later on November 29, 2020. Mars and Mary share the most beautiful love story with fifty-eight years of Marriage. Marcelino was born July 25,1941 to his parents Joaquin and Trinidad Macias. Mary was born on November 4, 1944 to her father Magdaleno Rodriguez and mother Margaret Vigil. Both were born in Riverside Ca, and grew up in Casa Blanca sharing big families. Marcelino began his barbering career while achieving his barber license and worked at, “Stone Barbershop "in the 1970s. Mars then shortly after opened his successful business, “Mars Barber shop”, which he worked at until the very end. Barbering was more then just a career for Mars it was his passion. He could cut your hair once and he would remember that specific hair cut every time you sat in his chair. The barbershop was more then just a workplace, it was a second home to everyone that stepped inside. He was a character, his vibrant personality and his stories will always be remembered. When Mars wasn’t in the barbershop you could find him working on his yard, deep sea fishing or at Classic Car Shows driving his beloved 55 Chevy Bel Air. Mars is commonly known from being the director of the riverside optimist club while working with local kids he named his “Waldos” and was a long time member in the Arlanza Community. Mary was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother sister and friend. she was a dedicated mother who raised her late son Mathew and daughter April along with her three grandchildren. Mary completed her high school education and attended nursing school. Mary was known for her cooking, cleaning and attention to detail. Her most requested dish was of course her famous Chili Beans which was always a hit at their family barbecues. Mary loved to bowl, sew and bake cakes. She baked and decorated wedding cakes along with sewing some family wedding dresses. Mary’s artistic ability and her beautiful handwriting will always be remembered. She always kept her faith, she was dedicated to prayer and she always knew god was with her. Mars and Mary accomplished many things in their lifetime along with owning several houses and thriving with their barber business. Their favorite thing to do together was go bowling and were both apart of bowling leagues. They will always be remembered for the ability to give so selflessly and to love unconditionally. The love they had for each other radiated to every person they met in their lifetime. They left lasting impressions with beautiful memories with love and most of all kindness that will never be forgotten. Mars and Mary are survived by Daughter (April Hewitt), Grandson (Jake Hewitt) Granddaughters Samantha Cruz and Serena Herrera. Marcelino's Brothers (David and Mario Macias) and Sisters Molly Martinez and Dorothy Valverde. Mary's sister Becky Peguero and brothers Gilbert and Mark Rodriguez.
Visitation will be held on January 28, 2021 from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral Service will be held on January 29, 2021 from 9:30 till 11:00 AM, both being held at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary. Burial service will be held at Olivewood Cemetery at 11:30 AM for the immediate family.
