John and the entire McDonald family.  Throughout this entire ordeal of two plus years, Laurel was brave, steadfast, and resolute.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her especially during the ebb and flow of tests, procedures, operations.  John, what a beacon of faith and faithfulness you displayed.  No husband could have done more to love and protect his wife. 

In  our memories of Laurel, she's always laughing and excited, talking about Johnny and the family and everything in her life. We liked to sit around, after breakfast,  in our favorite little restaurant and chat about everything under the sun. Looking into those bright eyes and listening to her enthusiasm, bubbling over and lighting us all up like the candle that she was. Closing my eyes and thinking about all the times that we were with her, I realize that she was always like that, and those memories of her will always be with us.
