LARRY COLBERT answered God's call to 'come home' on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Larry was born on June 10, 1936 in Eldorado, Illinois. He is survived by Charlotte, the love of his life, his wife of 55+ years. He is also survived by his son, Greg; daughters, Terri and Kelly (Michael), as well as a daughter-in-love, Gail; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson (Yadira), Stefanie Aldrich (Jeff), Eric and Zachary and 4 great grandchildren, Caitlynn, Leanne and Kyle Johnson and Emmett Aldrich and a brother, Bob. He will be reunited with his son Jeff who God called home in 1963. His family was his pride and joy and he was deeply loved by them. He was the 'go to' guy if you needed anything. Larry was an owner/operator truck driver for 46 years retiring in 2012 after driving 3 million accident-free miles. He was respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. His truck mechanic said it all, "the world lost a good man". There will be a viewing Thursday, Aug. 27, from 4 to 8 PM at Acheson & Graham Mortuary. The funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church of Riverside at 10 AM, Friday, August 28. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, available online.
