Joe Murillo, 71, beloved husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Joe was born on February 17, 1946 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Adela (Ruiz) and Manuel Murillo. Joe grew up in Casa Blanca, Riverside, CA.
Joe was involved in “The Brown Berets” movement where he marched from Casa Blanca to Sacramento. Joe marched along with other members proudly protesting the rights for all Chicanos.
He was a faithful God-fearing man. On top of loving the Lord, Joe loved his family and close friends. His passion was music. Family gatherings he automatically was the “DJ.” His gift of music was to surprise the crowd with songs that hadn’t been heard in years. His joy was to see people dancing to his music. He was a huge fan of the Los Angeles Rams where he was looking forward to their return to Los Angeles.
He leaves behind his loving wife Rachel Murillo. His daughters Linda Lujan, Katrina Murillo, and Lupita Chagolla. His son’s Michael Murillo, Arthur Murillo, and Joe Murillo Jr. He had 14 grandchildren.
He has preceding sisters and brothers who have gone to be with the Lord, Martha Ruiz Murillo, Nena Murillo, Jess Murillo, and Carlos Murillo.
Surviving brothers and sisters are Juan Murillo, Robert (Beto/Tex) Murillo, Ernie (Chato) Murillo, Carmen Murillo, Terry Murillo, and Lupe Murillo and leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
He will forever be loved and missed by all his family and close friends.
Joe is now with his Lord and Savior, until we all meet again…
