Calvin Johnson

Calvin Johnson was born December 1st, 1965 in Robbins, Illinois to Ernestine Johnson who preceded him in death in 2018. When Calvin was 8 years old, Ernestine moved her family to East Prairie, Missouri. After graduating from East Prairie High School, Calvin enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and moved West to San Diego, California. Calvin served his country for four years from October 1983 to October 1987.

During his time in the Corps, he met Deanna and they quickly fell in love. In September of 1987, they welcomed their first daughter Latasha. Calvin separated from the Corps in 1987 to be able to provide a more stable life for Deanna and Latasha. He then started his longstanding career at Roadway in Adelanto, California. In December of 1988, Calvin and Deanna eloped in Las Vegas, Nevada and welcomed their second daughter Felicia in July of 1989.

Calvin was very much a family man and always set the example of what true work ethic meant. Not only was he a proud and supportive father, but he was equally as proud to be a grandpa (Pa) to Penelope (6) and Charlotte (3).

Calvin Johnson made his transition February 23rd, 2022. He is survived by his wife Deanna Johnson of 34 years, Daughter Latasha Johnson-Pranghofer, and Daughter Felicia Johnson. His sister Yvette Johnson, Brother Clifton Johnson, and brother Juan Johnson. Finally, his granddaughters Penelope (Little Pumpkin), and Charlotte (Red).

A funeral service for Calvin will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Grove Community Church, 19900 Grove Community Dr, Riverside, CA 92508. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518.
