Paul was born in Memphis, TN on September 16, 1960, to Hilda Mae and Charles Arthur Bowers, Sr. of Memphis, TN. Paul graduated from Craigmont High School in Memphis in 1978.
Paul married Margaret Nation in 1988 in Memphis, TN. Their leisure time was spent traveling together and they completed many wonderful trips during their 35 years together. Paul and Margaret were members of First Baptist Church in Madison. In his younger years Paul loved to play basketball on various church and community teams.
For the last 18 years, Paul was a Salesman for People Lease, a staff administration system promoting payroll processing and employee benefits, as well as a BCBS insurance agent. Paul joined the Rotary Club of Jackson, MS in 2009 and served in numerous capacities including Sergeant- At-Arms for 12 years and as President in 2022-2023. He was also an original member of the Pink Tie Guys supporting the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Paul is survived by his wife, Margaret; one child, Kelly Gunter; two granddaughters, Jordan and Julie Gunter; and one great granddaughter, Daizy Dennis (Jordan and Dwayne). He is also survived by his brother, John Arthur Bowers and his nephew, Stephen Thomas Hartley as well as extended family members. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Arthur Bowers, Jr. and his sister Brenda Marie Graves.
A visitation for Paul will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS 39157, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. A graveside service will occur immediately following the funeral service.
