Kathy Phillips DeLay of Madison Mississippi passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Saint Dominic's hospital after a brief illness. She was 64 years old.
Kathy enjoyed working in the medical billing and insurance departments of several local hospitals during her career
During her younger years she enjoyed working in her flower garden. She enjoyed shopping with her daughter in law. Kathy loved crafting, decorating and helping set up for events at church. She attended Brandon First United Pentecostal Church, Brandon MS and later First Pentecostal Church, Byram, MS. Kathy loved to give little gifts to cheer up friends or loved ones who needed some encouragement.
Kathy was famous for her delicious secret recipe cookies that she made every year at Christmas time and gifted them to friends, family, and coworkers.
Her life revolved around her family. She loved her husband and two sons with her whole heart and wanted the best for them. Everything she did was for them.
Kathy was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Dean DeLay and her parents Floyd William Phillips and Herod Onita (Morris) Phillips.
She is survived by her two sons and daugher in law, Matt (Felisha) DeLay of Jackson, Louisiana and Joshua DeLay of Madison, MS, a sister Linda Carol Minchew of Raleigh, MS, and numerous friends and family members.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10AM with Rev. Lloyd Adcock officiating at Parkway Memorial Cemetery, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland MS.
