Ernest Gray Weaver

Ernest Gray Weaver, 81, of Spring TX passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Ernest was born in Waynesboro, Mississippi, son of the late Brown and Eva Weaver. Ernest was preceded in death by his son, Keith and his brother Dan. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Myra Weaver, by his son Stephen (Kimberly) and by his sister Evelyn. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Nicholas, Alexis, Andrew and Christopher and many loving nieces and nephews.

Ernest graduated from Mississippi State University in 1962 and worked his entire career at Entergy Corporation (formerly Mississippi Power and Light). He retired from Entergy Corporation in 2001 after 39 years with the company.

A faithful Christian servant his entire life, Ernest was a long-time member of Woodville Heights Baptist Church in South Jackson and more recently was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church before moving to Houston in 2017 to be closer to his son, daughter in law and grandchildren.

Ernest was a loving husband and devoted Father who will be remembered most for his service to others. He always put others first and he lived his life that way each and every day. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Cancer Fund and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
