He was born on January 24, 1950, in Raleigh, MS, to Audie Blakeney and Inez Clark Blakeney.
Clark attended Jones Community College and The University of Mississippi. He loved Ole Miss
sports and was a loyal fan.
On August 18, 1973, Clark married his high school sweetheart, the former Mary Ann Dees. This
year would have marked their 49th wedding anniversary.
Throughout his life, Clark was devoted to public service. He began his career at the
Mississippi State Highway Patrol and later went on to serve as the IT Director for the
Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. After 34 years of service Clark
retired, but he stayed active in his church and his community.
Clark was a long time and faithful member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. He was a very
caring person and was always thinking of others. Pop, as Avery and Logan affectionately
called him, was especially fond of spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was
taking them fishing, playing games, or having picnics in the Sonic parking lot.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his
daughter Rebecca Blakeney (Jordan) Earp of Hernando and his son Ryan Clark (Amy) Blakeney
of Brandon. He was the loving grandfather of Logan Earp and Avery Blakeney. He is also
survived by his brother Charles Anthony (Jan) Blakeney of Tyler, TX.
Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday,
