She attended Central High School and graduated from Mississippi College in 1947 with a degree in English and a minor in Foreign Language, focusing on French and Spanish. Anita started work at South Central Bell Telephone Company. She later worked for Canton Exchange Bank and continued to work for Trustmark Bank after it acquired Canton Exchange Bank until her retirement.
Anita was a member of First United Methodist Church Ridgeland, MS for many years. You could always see Anita with her lovely voice in the church choir on Sundays. Anita was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Annandale Chapter.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents Sidney Walton Padelford, Sr and Lucy Clare Padelford along with her brothers Sidney Walton Padelford, Jr and Millett Padelford.
Anita is survived by her husband of 60 years A C Spivey, Jr, son Andrew Spivey (Scarlett) Ridgeland, MS daughters, Melissa Holmes (Jack) Morton, MS, Melanie Wilkes (Roy) Ridgeland, MS, grandchildren, Amy Everette (J R), Ben Stone (Shannon), Eric Wilkes (Peyton), Elizabeth Wilkes (Ashton) and Ryan Wilkes, great-grandchildren, Dakota, Lane and Kaitlyn.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 5-7pm at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be Monday, September 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS . Burial will follow at Jessamine Cemetery, Ridgeland, MS
