Sandra Faye Coleman, age 70, of Sandston, Virginia passed away on Monday February 11, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital. Sandra was born July 23, 1948 in Richmond, VA. She was preceded by her parents, James and Rose Edwards; and her sister, Brenda Click. She is survived by her husband, William "Willie" Coleman; her daughter, Cecilia Murray and son-in-law Don of St. Robert, MO.; her brother, Ronald Edwards and wife Frances; four stepchildren - Greg Coleman and wife Stacey, Renee Weaver and husband Mark, Gwen Oliver, Todd Coleman and wife Nicole, 12 grandchildren Grace Murray, Ezra Murray, Gregory Coleman, Candace Coleman, Sierra Coleman, Kurt Weaver, Harris Weaver, Morgan Oliver, Cody Hart, Jessica Coleman, Holly Coleman, Reid Coleman and 3 great-grandchildren Raelynn Coleman, Carson Godfrey, Annabelle Dalton. She retired from the IRS after 38 years of service. She had served on the Highland Springs High School and VA State PTA Board as well as a 4-H and Girl Scouts Leader. She was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Woman’s International and served in several board positions in her local chapter. Sandra was a member of Sandston Baptist Church. In retirement she enjoyed traveling and crafting. A visitation for Sandra will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Richmond, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231. A visitation will occur Friday, February 15, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231. A celebration of life will occur Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231. An interment will occur Friday, February 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia, VA 23002. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where Danny Thomas personally presented her with a plaque acknowledging her service to St. Jude.
