Ruth Kane Strang

Strang, Ruth Kane, age 81, died on Monday, August 17, 2015, in Richmond, Virginia, born in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late, Joseph Alfred and Mabel Lavinia Kane. Ruth was also preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Lombardo and Earle W. Strang; brothers, Alfred Kane and Paul Kane; and granddaughter, Victoria “Tori” Moses. She is survived by her sister, Anne Etheridge of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her children, Jo Ellen Boykin (Tim), Lynn Kucker (Brian) of Richmond, VA, Wayne Lombardo of Orlando FL, Terrie Fenderson (Francis), Michael Lombardo of Richmond, VA, Jody Lombardo (Diane) of Naples FL, Tracy Walker (John), Stephanie Moses (Bobby), Erin Hazelgrove (Paul), Jamie Lombardo of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Clate and Jason Boykin, Michele Braswell and Michael Bradley, Christopher Julian, Nicholas Lombardo and Lindsey Russell, Elizabeth, Chase and Paige Lombardo, English Walker, Jacquelyn Straub, Emily and Benjamin Hazelgrove, and Whit Lombardo; thirteen great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her caring and devoted caregivers, Maria Anderson-Davis, Shirley Moss, Patricia Keel, and Hylah Gardner who spent countless hours protecting this beautiful angel. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Rd., Richmond. A private interment will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park.
