Rose Marie Davis

DAVIS, Rose M., slipped peacefully in to eternal life with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2014, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Albert "Jackie" G. Davis Sr.; and two children, Albert G. Davis Jr. and Joan M. Davis. She was preceded in eternal life by her parents, Mamie E. and Louis A. Gondos. She is also survived by three sisters, Sylvia J. Purvis (Mike), Lois M. Bellamy and Christine A. Helmick (Ira). Rose had four nephews, Wayne Alvis Jr., Sylvester Gray III, Jack Bellamy III and Bradley Helmick; and one niece, Sheila Ritter. Rose enjoyed traveling with her family and taking trips to fun places with her great nieces. We will miss her greatly. Rose was employed by Henrico County Division of Public Safety for 40 years as a school crossing guard. Rose enjoyed her job everyday serving the community, ensuring the safety of the children she crossed at Seven Pines Elementary School. She experienced generations of families that she crossed at Seven Pines. Her remains rest at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive family and friends on Thursday, February 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., and where a celebration of her life will be held on February, 6, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to New Kent Fire Rescue, P.O.
