Robert L. Morton

Robert Lewis Morton, CMS (Ret) VA ANG, 77, of Charles City, Va, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ferrell Morton; father, Robert Ray Morton; mother, Thelma Hair Wilholt Morton; and sisters, Linda Gay Morton Huneycutt and Shirley O’Neil Morton Morris.
He is survived by his sister, Peggy Joyce Morton Smith; nieces, Mitzi Lynn Morris and Laurie Ann Morris; nephews, Christopher Gerald Huneycutt and Phillip Scott Smith; four great-nephews and one great niece.
Robert loved fishing and small engine repair. He was a member of the Glendale Ruritan club, an active member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and was very generous in helping others.
The family will receive friends from 11-12pm on Saturday, February 6 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 5270 Charles City Rd., Richmond Va 23231. A funeral service will begin at noon. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
A special thanks goes to Marvin Beck, George Gosney and Randy Elliot for Robert’s care during the past year.
