Robert H. Crump, Sr.

Robert H. Crump, Sr., 89, of Charles City County, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016. He was retired from the Merchant Marines after 45 years of service and was a member of Gilfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Whitehead Crump and his parents, James and Amelia Crump. He will be greatly missed by his children, Robert H. Crump, Jr. (Debbie), Hilfred Crump, Cheryl Crump, Crystal Bradby (Rodney) and Andrea Crump; grandchildren, LaShahn Butts (Randall), David Crump (Betsaida), Michael Crump and Robert Crump (Shazeda); great-grandchildren, Austin, Gabriela, Takira, Mishal, Adrielle, Maxwell and Eli; step-grandson, Eric; and a number of extended family, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at Gilfield Baptist Church, 6640 Church Lane, Charles City, VA 23030. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
