Slough, Richard "Rick" Madison, 52, of Richmond, VA, passed away unexpectedly on December 19, 2018. A 1984 graduate of Highland Springs High School, Rick graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has spent the last 28 years proudly serving Henrico County, VA as a Deputy Sheriff. Rick was respected by his peers, loved by his family, and was a great friend to all who knew him. A loving husband, father, son, and uncle, he was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bobby" M. Slough III; grandparents, Bob and Evelyn Slough and Virginia Fay Hiller; brother David Slough; and sister Kim Matheny. He leaves behind his loving wife of 23 years, Devon Lockhart Slough; son Madison Douglas and daughter McKenna Leigh. He is also survived by his mother, Joanne Slough; brother-in-law, Mike Matheny; nieces, Ashley Scott (Mike) and Nicole Bosdell (Tre); nephew, Cory Matheny; and great-niece Harper Bosdell. Rick will also be greatly missed by the extended family he gained through his marriage to Devon. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, December 26, at Woody Funeral Home – Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, VA 23229. A memorial service will be held at this location in honor of Rick on Thursday, December 27 at 1 PM. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831.
