He was preceded in death by his sons, Richard “Rick” Didlake and Mark S. Didlake.
He started his career as a licensed plumber, then went on to be a carpenter/handyman and after retiring, he delivered newspapers. He loved hunting and raising hunting dogs, he was very gifted at building things and loved building birdhouses for people.
He is survived by a daughter, Martha Sutphin; son, James “Jamie” Didlake; sister, Juanita Joyce; granddaughter, Shawna Glenn and several other grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2 pm, March 5, 2024 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238.
