Patrick Owen Brady Sr.

On Monday, July 16, 2018, Patrick Owen Brady Sr., passed away suddenly at home. He was 77 years old. Pat (Owen) was preceded in death by his father Patrick Luther Brady in 2005. Pat is survived by his mother Effie Boettcher Brady, his beloved wife and companion of forty years Bettie Brady. He also leaves behind a daughter Leslie E. Brady and a son Patrick Owen Brady Jr. Pat had three grandchildren whom he loved very much, Patrick O. Brady III of Glendive Montana, Stanford S. Durrette and Gilliam E. Durrette, both of Midlothian. He has two sister’s Ellen B. Hardesty (Don) Harpers Ferry West Virginia and Faye B. Mitchell (Bodie) of Ashland; three nephews, three nieces and their children, and a host of loved ones and friends. Pat was a Master Machinist and a collector and hunter of Civil war relics. He could make anything and fix everything. His interest’s included electronics, wood working, physics, history and philosophy. He was a kind man who loved the beach, Rock n Roll, a good pizza, good times with family and his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who loved him. A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm at Forest Grove United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Rd., Ashland, Va. 23005. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local chapter of Meals on Wheels.
