Norman Parker

PARKER, Norman, 84, of Henrico, passed away on May 12, 2016, on his wedding anniversary. Norman was born in Ilford, Essex, England. He arrived in this country on December 12, 1967, with his first wife, Sylvia, as a butler. After his first wife's passing, Norman went back to his former trade as a machinist, working for Service Machine and Welding in Ashland, Va., where he retired after 27 and a half years. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Edith Annie and John Robert; sister, Betty; brothers, Ron and Fred; and his first wife, Sylvia. Norman was survived by his wife of 37 years, Charlotte Gayle "Yogi"; sons, Chuck, Eddie, Norman and Frank; grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Austin, Vanessa, Ilam, Ronan; and his nephew, Chris. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231.
