Mervin Blair McDowell, Jr., 96, passed away on November 9, 2021 following a lifetime of faith and service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy B. McDowell; his son, Larry C. Brown; and his brother, James W. McDowell. He is survived by his beloved niece, Robin S. Harris (James); two grandchildren and an extended church family.
Mervin was very proud of his Naval service during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He retired from Sealtest Foods (Kraft Heinz) following many years of employment.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr., Sandston, Va. 23150.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 7600 Studley Road, Mechanicsville, Va. 23116.
