Mary Ruth Ownby

Knoxville, TN. She was a public school teacher for 31 years. She was a member of

Ridge Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for 8 years and Sunday School Director for

25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon L. Ownby, her parents,

Mr. & Mrs. R. E. Cardwell and brother, Bob Cardwell. She is survived by 3 sons,

Lee(Carol) Ownby of Knoxville, TN., Dean(Susan) of Kansas City, MO., and

Steve(Andrea) Ownby of Larkspur, CO., grandchildren, Drew(Milea) Ownby,

Craig(Amanda) Ownby, Emily(Thomas) Jennings, Matthew(Junko) Ownby, Lauren(Eric)

Ketner, and Brian Ownby, and Eric Ownby; great grandchildren, Bryson, Paisley &

Everett Ownby. She is also survived by her sister, Leunah “Doodle” Tipton and several

nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 11 am - 12:30p.m., Saturday, Feb.

20 at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Richmond, VA with the service to

follow at 1:00p.m. at Ridge Baptist Church, 1515 Eastridge Rd., Burial at Westhampton
