Mary Noel, age 86, born in Trenton NJ and raised in Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away at her home in Richmond, VA with her daughters at her side on Thursday, February 28, 2013.
Mary was the daughter of the late Ann Alleva and Carmen Tortella of Wilmington, DE. She graduated from Wilmington High School and worked as a dental hygienist in Chester, PA. She also worked for Habersettes in Linvilla, PA, and Baldt Anchor Company in Chester, PA where she met her husband, Dwight P. Noel formally of Chester, PA, who passed away in 2009. They were truly in love and were soul mates and happily married for 29 years.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, planning parties and get togethers. She also enjoyed cooking, square dancing, shopping for antiques, sewing, crocheting, traveling and entertaining guests at their warm and cozy home. Mary truly enjoyed being with people, was very kind hearted and always so thoughtful of everyone.
Besides living in Wilmington, DE, she also resided in Chester, PA, West Chester, PA, Coatesville, PA, Key West, FL, Summerfield, FL and most recently Richmond, VA.
Mary is survived by her three children, Kathleen Stinger of Richmond, VA, Richard Kosmalski (wife, Rosemarie) of Wilmington, DE and Lee Ann Hettrick (husband, George) of Richmond, VA and one step daughter, Beverly Brandon (husband, Michael) of Coral Springs, FL. She has been blessed with 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She also has 2 sisters and 1 brother, Frances Clark, Karen Alleva and Richard Tortella (wife, Ann) all of Newark, DE. She has many nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dwight P. Noel, brothers, Billy, Alex, and most recently Anthony Tortella.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Mary’s caregiver and special friend, Shelley Hardwicke, of Richmond, VA for her warm and loving care since 2009.
