Lorene “Rene” Work Geddie

Lorene “Rene” Work Geddie, 93, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed peacefully into heaven on March 2, 2023, after a short period of declining health. She was born September 27,1929, in Gavin County, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Benjamin, and Lottie Adamson Work; husband, Earl M. Geddie; brothers, Jody Work, J.B. Work, Benjamin Alan Work and L.D. Work; sister, Lucille Meeks Moore. She is survived by nieces, Barbara Shifflett of Shenandoah, VA, Peggy Mulligan of Richmond, VA, Penny Work of Clarksville, TN; nephews, Randy Meeks (Sondra) of Salisbury, NC, Tony Work (Debbie) of Clarksville, TN; and numerous grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Lorene was a long-time active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. She was a career-long store manager for Puritan Cleaners in Richmond. Known to her family and friends as Rene, Lorene was the treasurer for her community board for several years. She enjoyed making Christmas wreaths and other handicraft items. She also enjoyed boating and fishing with her husband for many years. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to St. Paul's Catholic Church, Richmond, VA.
