IN THE CARE OF
Woody Funeral Home-Parham
SADLER, Karen Kay, age 66, born on March 30, 1957, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023. She was born in Newport News, VA, but had made Richmond her home for the past forty-five years.
She graduated from Menchville High School and attended Virginia Intermont College. She worked a variety of jobs and had good memories of her years at the March of Dimes.
Karen took tennis lessons twice weekly for years, participated in walk-a-thons, learned cake decorating, was an excellent Scrabble player, and always scouted out good estate sales. She enjoyed trips with her friends, the late Susie Witbeck and Francine Reynolds. Until late last month she went on weekly outings with her sister and her niece, Sara Sheets, where they tried new restaurants and had a look around a thrift shop. She enjoyed the companionship of fellow residents of Dogwood Terrace.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry M. Jr. and Betty Sadler, her brothers Mark S. Sadler and William P. Sadler. She is survived by her sister, Carol S. Contarino (Joseph), and brother, Henry M. Sadler, III (Donna). Funeral services will be private.
