George was born February 22, 1951 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He relocated to Virginia in 1993 where he worked as a Henrico County Security Officer and Firearms Instructor until his retirement in 2017. He spent his final days at home surrounded by family and friends and was making everyone laugh until the end.
George was a collector of lighthouses, matchboxes and shot glasses. He was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed playing the guitar, watching football, photography, going on cruises, telling jokes, salsa dancing, drinking Jack Daniels and spending time with family and friends.
George was proud of his family and let everyone he met know it. He is survived by his loving wife Vickie, his children Carlos (Kerry) and Linda, his parents Clisanto and Laura Sierra, his sister Sonia Oliver, his five grandchildren Alexus, Cierra, Patrick, Liam and Maxwell, as well as his son-in-law Patrick Sr., mother-in-law/suegrasona Candy and a host of brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be sent to Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home (https://www.asymca.org/operation-ride-home) which provides servicemen and women with transportation home when it is needed most.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22 at Woody Funeral Home located at 1771 North Parham Road, Henrico, VA 23229 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
