Obituary of Frank Willard Haselton
Frank Willard Haselton Ecclesiastes 3:2 A time to be born..April 29, 1923...and a time to die..July 9, 2024 Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Dad, “Papa Frank”, “Grandpa Joe” - Frank W. Haselton has gone to be with his Lord. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Shirley, in 1987, his second wife, Rita, in 2002, and two brothers, Walter and Charles. He is survived by his fiancee, Jeanette Kahn, his children Sharon Amdall (John), Kent Haselton (Debra), and Linda Haselton, grandchildren Christopher Trader, US Army (Yoo-hui) and Laurel Montgomery as well as great grandchildren Paisley, Jaxson, and Ghino. He is also survived by siblings Tim (Lia), Shirley (Edward), Esther, and Stephen (Debra) as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and close friends. Frank graduated from Clarkson College (now University) and the University of Missouri, was a registered professional electrical engineer. Frank retired from Western Electric (now Nokia) in 1986 after working in North Andover, MA, Kansas City, MO, and Richmond, VA. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and enjoyed lectures at the Virginia Historical Society, visiting the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, and participating in many Road Scholar educational and fun trips. He enjoyed reading and helping his neighbors with small repairs such as fixing lawn mowers, installing handrails, or building devices to make work easier. We will celebrate Frank’s long life on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm, preceded with Visitation at 1:00 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel at 4650 S. Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23231. His remains will be interred at the foot of his grandfather Frank Haselton in the Haselton Cemetery located on Haselton Road in Wilmington, New York at a later date. Frank’s family appreciates the kindness and care provided by Bon Secours Hospice House and staff, friends and family. His favorite saying was “I’m vertical, happy, well-fed, and still in love. Every day is a gift. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund or the Church Building Fund at Corinth United Methodist Church, 23 W. Williamsburg Road, Sandston, VA 23150.
