WOOD, Esther Drucilla Duling “Dada”, 92 of Richmond, departed her earthly life on June 13, 2015 and joined her husband, Woodrow Wood; her parents, Annie and Clarence Duling; sister, Mildred Pendergraph; and brother, Clarence Duling, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Danis (Laurence) Boyce and Judie (John) Armstrong; three sisters, LaVerne Leake, Charlotte Fleet, and Orebelle Philyaw. She was also known as “Nanny” to eight grandchildren and “Luv” to 17 great-grandchildren. Over the years, she was a Pianist, Organist and Choir Director for Churches in Richmond, Cumberland, Powhatan and Buckingham Counties. In her spare time, she was an avid seamstress for her family, friends and herself. She never turned down a chance to travel with her Senior Church group at Mount Vernon Baptist Church or last minute trips to Florida with her husband, Woody. Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00pm on Wednesday, June 17, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 18 at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice Community Care, 10128 West Broad Street, Suite J, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
