Dwayne E. Davis, 60, of Sandston passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016. As a U. S. Navy veteran, he was a plankowner on the USS Nimitz. He was a 35 year employee of the Newport News Shipyard. He volunteered as a Boy Scout leader, Hunter Education instructor and 4-H rifle and pistol instructor. He was a born and bred Denver Bronco fan and proud of it. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl B. Davis; son, Kyle E. Davis (Kelly); brother, John (Debbie); sister, Donna Kay; his wife’s family: Mom, Shirley Butler; Michael, Sr. (Pat); Michael, Jr. (Jennifer) and daughter, Hailey; aunt, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4560 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
