Donald Richard Davenport, 72, of Ruther Glen, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Born on September 11, 1951 to Wesley Leonard Davenport and Margareta Eva Davenport, Donald Richard Davenport was a beloved father, husband, and family patriarch. He dedicated his life to ensuring those around him were successful and loved immensely. He is preceded in death by his father Wesley L. Davenport and mother Margareta E. Davenport, as well as brothers Dennis Davenport, Wesley Davenport, Clyde Davenport, and Timmy Davenport, and sisters Judy Costea and Heidi Davenport. Donald Richard Davenport is survived by his beloved husband, Charles W. Unger, his son Stephen J. Davenport, brothers James Davenport, John Davenport, and Robert Davenport, as well as his sisters Debbie Price, Patricia Brown-White, Susan Wolford, and Erika Davenport. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of loving him. A visitation service will be held on May 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229.
