NEWTON, David Franklin, 76, passed away June 3, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Newton and Pauline Newton Dowdy; as well as brothers and sisters, Sonny, Robert, Buddy, Kenny, Donald, Carol and Louise. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Dottie; his daughters, Stephanie Nix (Stuart) and Stacy Griffith; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Joe) Robson, Tate Houff, Zachary (Emily) Griffith, Aaron Griffith; great-grandson, Ricky; and sister, Nancy (Earnest) Gordon. If he wasn’t in a brick pile, he was probably next to a body of water doing what he loved best, fishing.
