Clarence William Brown, Jr., 89, of Richmond went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred B. Folks. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Penny B. Brown; two daughters, Yvonne B. Goff (David) and Lynda B. Chafin (Steve); 5 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha B. Lotts; and two nephews and one niece.
Mr. Brown retired from WWBT Channel 12 after 47 years of service, and he was a decorated World War II ARMY veteran, receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday at Faith Landmarks Ministries, 8491 Chamberlayne Rd. Interment in Westhampton Memorial Park.
