Charles Eugene “Gene” Sajonc, 88, of Richmond, passed away on July 10, 2013. He was born in Rochester, NY in 1925. Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He married Marjorie Saile and had five wonderful children, whom he is survived by, Kathy, Karen, Kristy, Charlie, and Keith. He was an engraver for Roehlen Engraving and later relocated to Virginia to continue his engraving career with Inta-Roto. After the untimely passing of Marjorie, Gene remarried to June Hnatiw in September, 1974, and three step daughters joined the family, Ellen, Jan, and Laurie. Gene and June semi-retired to Florida, where they enjoyed time with friends until they returned to Virginia to be closer to their family. He will be sorely missed by his wife and children, along with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family will welcome friends at a memorial service in his honor on Saturday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home Reception Center, 4660 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, Va 23231.
