She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Salmon and Cecil Salmon; and her sister, Evelyn Slayton. She is survived by her children, Mark Winn (Kim), Sandy Dow (Troy), Tracey Beckner (Dale), Matthew Brown (Amy); grandchildren, Stephen Winn, Timmy and Tommy McGraw, Allyson and Jacob Brown, Kaitlyn Dow; great grandson, Jace Winn; and brothers, Danny and Butch Salmon.
Carolyn spent many years as a Henrico County school bus driver. She then became a United States Postal Service employee delivering mail. Many mailboxes were replaced throughout this career with the help of friends and family.
Carolyn attended Fairmount Christian Church. She enjoyed giving and planting flowers, watching hummingbirds at her feeder, and riding motorcycles.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
