Renola Mouton Jordan, age 91, of San Ramon, CA passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021.
She was born October 23, 1929 to the late Homer and Nelly Mouton, in Kaplan, LA. Renola was one of twelve children born to this union. While living in Louisiana, Renola became mother to three children. She later moved to Houston, TX and her fourth child was born. Renola then later moved her family to California joining some of her family already there. In California, she worked as a housecleaner and loved to spend her time volunteering. While being a housecleaner, she met and worked for a family who later would become like family to her. She remained good friends with the Fuller family and would continue to visit and have regular phone calls with them until her death.
Renola volunteered for many years at Brookside Hospital in San Pablo, Ca. Here she made many friends and fond memories. She also volunteered at the San Pablo Senior center where she was affectionately known as the ‘Hostess with the Mostest.’ She loved to socialize and travel with others at the center.
Renola was dearly loved by many and known as “Mom-Me” to her grandchildren and many of their friends. She was involved in her grandchildren’s lives. She loved to support her grandsons in their sports and was a well-known figure at their games. Family was important to her. One of her favorite sayings was “give me my flowers while I’m alive” and she made sure to let her family know that they were loved and appreciated.
Renola was an avid churchgoer and loved attending Sunday School and reading her Bible daily. She made many friends while attending church. She enjoyed discussing the Bible and attending church functions. Renola was so full of life. She strived to get the most out of every day. She was a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Nelly Mouton. Sisters; Unices, Gertrude, Viola, and Bernell. Brothers; Sonny, Freddie, Herbert, Rhynell, John and Homer Jr. Son Homer Stevenson.
She leaves to cherish her memory one sister Lillian Huguley of Woodland, Ca; Son Patrick Stevenson of Abbeville, La; Two daughters Cynthia Celestine, Walnut Creek, Ca; Brenda (Clifford) Hayes, Richmond, Ca. Grandchildren; DeAndre Sr , Damenian Sr, Michael Jr, Nakia (Michael), Maurice Sr, Marcell Sr, Chiffon (Shelby), Clifford, Shalacy (Kendal), Mercedes (Marcus), Shana, Victor (Elissa), and Samantha. Great- grandchildren; DeAndre Jr, Demario, A’drea, Dai Monae, Brooklyn (Jacob), Hyliah, Maurice Jr, Brandy, Ke’Andre, London, Traylon, Marcell Jr, Diesel, Tiyuanna, Kaloni, Ariah, Taniyah, Kassidy, Seven, Damenian Jr, Deshon, Mauriah, Aleiah, Kiana, milaan, Damoni, Nia, Dylan, Leeria and Kamari. Great-great grandchildren; Jailaya, Michael III, Jamonie, Marques, Jai and a host of relatives and friends.
