William “Bill” Perry Irving, Jr., age 74 of Richardson, Texas passed away while surrounded by his family, Tuesday, June 30, 2015. He was born October 25, 1940 in Tyler, Texas to William Perry Irving, Sr. and Berna Cochran. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and twin brothers, John and Joel.
As a young man Bill earned Eagle Scout, and served as Troop Master in the Boy Scouts of America. Subsequently, Bill proudly served over 40 years in the United States Navy, retiring with the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. He began his career as a diver, but followed his passion as a photographer in Vietnam and Persian Gulf wars. Later in life he joined the Masons with memberships at Pentagon No. 1080, and Olive Branch No. 26 where he served as Past Master. Bill also enjoyed his career as a petroleum geologist.
Bill was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He is survived by his daughter Kelly M. Irving; stepdaughter C. Tiffany Hooper; grandchildren Autumn D. Johnson and Jayden A. Johnson; uncle Irad Cochran; and many cousins.
Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 1:15 p.m. at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
