Ray "L.R." Sullivan, 89 of Richardson, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. The family will be accepting guests at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 S. Greenville Ave., Richardson, Texas 75081, from 10:00am-11:00am on Monday, January 21, 2019. Funeral services will be at Sparkman Funeral Home Chapel following the visitation. Interment will conclude at Restland Cemetery.
Ray was born on August 20, 1929 in Denison, Texas to Lewis Roy and Gladys Grossman Sullivan. He married Rosemary Blankenship in 1964. Ray served in the Navy during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. After his time in the military, Ray went to work at Rockwell International in Richardson, TX where he retired in 1989. Ray had a love for race cars and spent time racing on the dirt track circuit. Ray spent many years as a Boy Scout troop leader and enjoyed spending time fishing with his boys. He loved watching wrestling with the boys and their friends.
Ray is survived by his sons, David Sullivan and his wife, Debbie; Raymond Sullivan and his wife, Victoria; Lewis Sullivan and his wife, Shelly; and Scott Sullivan and his wife, Blakley. His beloved grandchildren include Josie and her husband, Casey; Miranda; Matthew and his wife, Raeann; Jacob; Rebecca; Anna; Lizzy; Caden; Brady and Cassidy. His great-grandchildren include Audrey, Brooklyn and Benjamin.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Christine Blankenship Sullivan; his parents, Lewis and Gladys Sullivan; his brothers, Kenneth Roy and Larry Paul and sister, Thelma Florene.
