Lydia Lovell Phillips, of Plano, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2020 in Wichita, Kansas at the young age of 69. She was born June 10, 1951 in Kingsland, GA to James and Dorothy Fairley. Lydia attended Eastside High School where she graduated class of 1969. She then attended William Paterson College. Lydia and her family settled in Parker, TX in 1978.
Lydia enjoyed reading, sewing, volunteering at church and spending time with her family. She was a thoughtful, kind, and generous woman and was dearly loved by her family and friends. Of all the roles she had throughout her life, she cherished most her role as Nana.
If you knew Lydia she is rejoicing and dancing in the presence of her King. She would not want us crying, she would want us to cherish the time we have had, and to carry her memories and legacy with us daily.
Lydia was a woman in the New Testament known for selling garments in the shade of purple. She worshiped God, and the Lord opened her heart for her to hear the words spoken by Paul. How ironic that our Lydia’s favorite color was also purple, which also symbolizes the color of royalty.
Many of you know Lydia, and she touched each of your lives in different ways. To some she was a mother, nana, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, teacher, wife, confidante, friend, counselor and so much more, but her greatest role was that of a worshiper and singer. Lydia through her praise and worship was able to escort others into praise so effortlessly. She gave without hesitation never asking why, only “how can I help?”. Lydia thank you for always putting every one’s needs before your own, it is your time to rest and sing like never before. We love you.
Lydia is survived by her mother, Dorothy Fairley of Garland, TX; her children Angel Anguiano (Rudy) of Plano, TX, John Phillips III of Plano, TX, Lovell Dennis (Greg) of New Zealand, and Avriel Kizart (Vlicia) of Wichita, KS; two sisters, Carolyn Waye of St. Marys, GA and Frankie Fairley of Rowlett, TX; nine grandchildren, Rudy Anguiano III, Anthony Anguiano, Autumn Anguiano, Ian Phillips, Jacquelyn Dennis, Logan Dennis, Liam Phillips, Jaxon Phillips, and Kevyn Kizart; two great grandchildren, Korbin and Elayna Anguiano; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Fairley, and brothers Robert James Fairley and Rodney Fairley.
