Donald William Nemec, 90 of Mesquite, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018. He was born on February 18, 1928 in Berwyn, Illinois to William J. and Angeline Zaleski Nemec. Donald was married to Geraldine Joan Nemec for 61 years until her death in 2016. Donald served with the United States Army in the Korean War (1950-1952). Donald graduated from Cicero High School in Illinois and worked for Western Electric for forty years. Donald travelled extensively in the United States and abroad, always admiring cultural differences.
Donald is survived by his children, James “Jim” Nemec, Marianne Garrett and husband Michael, Donna Balli and husband Daniel, and Matthew Nemec; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will be accepting guests at Sparkman Funeral Home (Richardson, Texas) on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, from 4:00pm-6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Cemetery (Rowlett, Texas).
