Carol Ann Blamire died in her home April 24, 2018. Carol was born in Benton Harbor, MI, to Albert and Marjorie Troffer. She moved to the San Francisco area in 1961 where she met her surviving husband, Edward Blamire and they were married on February 16, 1963. They lived in Palo Alto, CA. While there, Carol was Secretary to the Legal Counsel of Hewlett Packard. After relocating to Richardson, TX in 1966, Carol worked in the legal department of Texas Instruments. She retired from the company in 1993, after which she and Ed saw much of the US in their travel trailer.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Blamire, and her children, Donna Howe (Mike) of Austin, and Todd Blamire, (Terri) of Richardson, and her grandchildren and their families.
Carol volunteered at Richardson General Hospital since Sept. 1967, finally retiring in Jan. 2015. She had many happy memories of her friends there, especially chairing the monthly staff dinners. She and Ed were in of the first group of ushering volunteers with the Eisemann Center, lasting until April 2015. Over their 11 years there they each gave over 1500 hours. Her hobbies included reading, playing cards at the Richardson Senior Center, and finishing the daily crossword puzzle.
Visitation will be from 1- 2 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Sparkman Funeral Home on Greenville Ave. Services will follow at 2pm, with a reception following. Burial will take place at the National Cemetery on May 1st at 11am.
