Jean Catherine Hagen

Jean C. Hagen, age 91, of Rhinelander passed away January 26, 2013 at Cumberland Heights Assisted Living Facility. She was born on August 12, 1921 in Rhinelander to Louis and Catherine (Cuenin) Feiler. Jean attended Rhinelander Schools and was united in marriage to Walter Hagen on June 28, 1939 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and had volunteered for several years with the St. Mary’s Pink Ladies at Friendly Village. Jean had also been employed at Ministry St. Mary’s Hospital for seven years.

She is survived by three sons, Michael (Laurie), Joseph, and Stephen (Cheryl) Hagen, and a daughter, Elizabeth Craig all of Rhinelander. Jean is further survived by thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and by many nieces, and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter on October 8, 1979, a son Terry, a granddaughter, Shelly, two sisters, Doris Soderlund and Rosemary Nolda and by one brother, Merritt Scheidegger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 12 PM at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, St. Mary’s site with Fr. Tom Thakadipuram officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 AM until the time of Mass. Hildebrand-Russ Funeral Home, 715-365-4343 is assisting the family with arrangements.
