Sharon Joy Carnahan, age 70, died on 26 July 2010, in Renton, Washington after a noble struggle with brain cancer. She was born 29 March 1940 in Seattle, Washington to Donnell and Janet (Dick) Poulsen. Sharon was raised in the Seattle area from Ballard to Rainier Beach. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1958. She married the love of her life Don. Starting their life together as a proud Husky Wife watching Don play football, they shared over 50 wonderful years together. They did everything from camping, hunting, snowmobiling and riding motorcycles to extensive traveling around the US, Scotland and Yugoslavia together. Sharon provided invaluable assistance to Don in his years in the pupil transportation industry; from editing documents to preparing proposals and helping him be successful in all his professional endeavors. She worked at Boeing for 35 years before retiring in 1995. Later she worked part-time for Zonar Systems before retiring again in 2008. Sharon was an avid genealogist and loved sewing and quilting. She traveled with Don and did genealogy research in many parts of the country where he attended conferences. She collected frog memorabilia in her travels, sharing them with her mother and later inheriting the collection. Sharon was a life member of the South King County Genealogy Society and was a regular volunteer at the Auburn Family History Center sharing her love of genealogy with people who came to learn. Sharon was proceeded in death by her parents Donnell E and Janet (Dick) Poulsen. She is survived by her beloved husband Donaldson M Carnahan, her three daughters Shari Carnahan, Kimberlee (Ronald) Medlock, and Tamara (Kevin) Johnson, her two sisters A. Janell Johnson and Donnell Seese and eight grandchildren; Victoria Medlock, Donaldson Medlock, Bradley Medlock, Camilla Medlock,, Gregory Medlock, Scott Medlock, Corey Johnson, and Kyle Johnson. There will be a viewing at on Friday, August 6, 2010 from Noon until 6:00 p.m. Sharon's funeral will be held the following day, Aug. 7 at Noon. Both will be at Greenwood Memorial, 350 Monroe Ave NE, Renton, WA. A graveside service will immediately follow. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held at 20245 SE 192nd St, Renton, Washington following interment.
