Marilyn Labrache (Kay) Brown was born May 13th,1948 to parents Josephine Palmer and C. William Madson in Seattle, Washington. Her last home was in Napavine, Washington. She lived many places throughout her lifetime. Marilyn passed away on May 9th, 2020 at age 71 in Tacoma, Washington from complication of her cancer. Marilyn had a love for the arts, travel, and a passion for animals (specifically Salukis and Bengal cats).
She had many friends all over the world through her life’s work of photography, magazines, breeding and showing of dogs, escrow, and art gallery. Marilyn graduated from Lincoln High School and attend the University of Washington. She was well respected by her peers, fellow Saluki enthusiasts and the AKC.
Marilyn was blessed to have an extended blended family that adored her as well as her community of artisans and animal enthusiasts.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Palmer and C. William Matson. She is survived by sister Judy Larson (Ken) and half- sister Robin; her child and step-children, Damon Brown (Chrissy), Rick Brown (Lisa), Kathy Moore (Randy), Jamie Espeland; eight grandchildren Chance and Zoey Brown; Kayleigh and Weston Brown, Jenny Long (Matt), Christina Richards (Chris); great-grandchild Wren Long.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 at 11:00 am at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home. Due to the current Pandemic, Marilyn’s service is limited to her immediate family members. We hope to honor and celebrate her in the coming year at a local Saluki Specialty in 2021.
