Anthony J. Porcello passed away peacefully on his 95th birthday, the 4th of July, 2018. Anthony grew up in Renton, WA and remained in the local community throughout his entire life. He was in his early 20’s when he met the love of his life, Annie who was his wife of 66 years. The couple started a jewelry business in the 1950’s which after years of hard work and dedication became a successful operation, this business continues to thrive today, now under the management of their grandchildren.
Anthony will always be remembered for his strong faith, dedicated work ethic, his standard of perfection in all areas of his life, his love for his wife and grandchildren, and his love of golf. He attended many PGA golf tournaments and traveled extensively to support those who participated in playing the game. Anthony enjoyed spending his time keeping up with all the sports games as well as staying current with the political news. Anthony and Annie divided their time over the last 30 years between a home in sunny Southern California, and the Northwest.
Anthony had an exceptionally large social circle. He continued to drive himself, remaining strongly independent and socially active up until that last days of his life. As a man of great will and determination, he notified his family that he would see his 95th birthday, which he did, but no longer. He passed away at 12:15am. He is survived by his 5 loving grandchildren.
There will be a viewing held Sunday July 15th at Greenwood Memorial Park from 11am-3pm. The service will take place at 11am on Monday July 16th at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Renton.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Anthony’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
