Volker William Jeske

March 31, 1929 – April 5, 2023

Bill passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, just 5 days after his 94th birthday. He was at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care, Unit 3A, in Regina, SK.

He will be lovingly missed by his three children: Dean (Donna), Rick (Bev), and Angela.

Bill was a loving grandfather to his four grandchildren; Sarah (Anthony), Preston (Megan), Lucas (Alexis), and Tanner (Nikki).

Bill also enjoyed and loved his five great grandchildren: Cate, Beau, Bronx, Ruger, and Myles.

Bill was predeceased by his parents and his three sisters (Ursula, Edith, and Gerda). He was also predeceased by his loving wife Trautel “Trudy” (nee Voelpel) and his son-in-law Glen (Angela).

Bill will be missed by his cat, Shannon, who was his faithful companion.

Bill retired from the Post Office in Regina where he worked in the maintenance department. In retirement he kept himself busy with a number of varied activities. He was very proud of his daily routine at the Sandra Schmirler Centre. He swam, worked out, and enjoyed the company of the people there. He belonged to a weekly bridge club. He enjoyed working on his model train set. He spent countless hours at his computer desk working on cataloguing his extensive stamp collection. Even in his 80’s, he was actively involved in building a cottage at the lake with Rick. He looked forward to his Thursday coffee get together with his friends Joe and Fergie.

Bill’s family would like to thank the staff of the Pasqua Palliative Care Unit.

A funeral service will be held at the Mount Olive Lutheran Church, located at 2015 – 4th Avenue North, Regina, SK, on May 20, 2023, at 11:00 am.

Bill’s ashes will be interred together with Trudy’s at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, we would ask that donations be made to the Regina Humane Society.
