A resident of Quinton, Saskatchewan, Tommy Douglas Pelly passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in his loving home. He was born on September 26, 1967 in Sioux Lookout, Ontario.
Predeceased by his mother Flora Doniot; grandparents Robert and Gladys Pelly (nee Lands); great-grandparents Joe Awasse Pelly, Flora Pelly, Edward Lands and Marie Lands; uncles Allan Pelly, Ernest Lands Pelly, Stanley Pelly; aunt Diane Pelly; his beautiful niece Raven Howse; mother-in-law Donna Kay; father-in-law Edgar Kay, as well as numerous other family and relatives.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lenora Pelly; children Brandon (Celina), Colby (Christina), Jaiden, Sidonie, Tommy and Chikaya; his special granddaughters, whom he loved, cherished and adored, Aurora Whiteman and Yvonna Pelly; father Eddie Bird; brothers Edwin Bird, Larry Bird, Roger Bird, Brian Bird (Prairie), Ron Jeremiah, Dwayne Jeremiah and Luke Bannon. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters from his father’s family; mother Yvonne Howse (Conrad), sisters Leanne Howse, and Feather Howse (Brian); and nieces and nephews, too many to mention.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the leadership and Elders of the communities of Grass Narrows, Whitefish Bay and Kawacatoose First Nation who have helped and assisted with the arrangements for his Wake and Funeral Service; special thanks to our family and friends, who have supported and guided us through this difficult time, and many thanks to his special friends and family who shared friendships with him before his passing. Also, the family would like to thank Lee Funeral Home for all of their assistance, as well as any others that we may have missed.
A Traditional Wake will be held at the Kawacatoose First Nation Community School on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. A Traditional Funeral Service will take place at the same location on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with a burial to follow in the Kawacatoose North Cemetery.
